In Volume 5 of the COGITO INDIVIDUATIONIS series, Matjaž L. Regovec focuses on what constitutes one of the core questions of one’s developing a distinct, individual identity: that of authenticity. Following the psychoanalytic concept of a true and false identity from the four perspectives of man’s thinking, psychic, spiritual-archetypal and the physical-bodily, the analysis of authenticity proceeds from its historical roots onwards. The analysis shows that authority, its collective and individual meaning, and its role in the process of authenticating one’s emergent individual identity, forms the crux of the development of an authentic individual identity. Some cosmological planetary archetypes of the authentication process are being explored and described. They can lead to the fulfilment of the individual quality of life, facilitating the possibility of attaining one’s realistic life goals.
